In the spirit of Make Do and Mend, I did something recently that I've done only once before that I can recall: refashioned my own knitting! Six years ago, I knit Susan Crawford's Perfect Christmas Jumper pattern. It's a gorgeous, classic novelty holiday sweater. As an aside, if you're familiar with the pattern, you can see one major difference: the design is a lot bigger because I knit it in worsted weight yarn ... Read more »

Get your knitting needles ready for my next pattern (perfect for a holiday gift!)
Hi everyone! I'm just about ready to release my latest knitting pattern, a fun new hat. Can you guess what it is? If you guessed a plaid beret, you're correct! Knitting plaid is no small feat, usually involving intarsia knit flat and/or sewing or crocheting vertical lines in the finished work after completing. Prepping for my Clare coat project
I have a lot of creative things floating around both in my head and in my hands lately. Behind-the-scenes, I'm working on my next knitting pattern release. Not forgotten: Cath Kidston inspired cardigan
A year and a half ago, I started and completed a cardigan. I never took photos, which is really unlike me with sweaters. It wasn't because I wasn't pleased with it, or didn't wear it, as I was and did (and do). I just never got around to it—until today! This is a total copycat cardigan. Case in point: Guess which one is mine... yeah okay, perhaps the Cath Kidston label and machine-knit stitch size gives it ... Read more »
Roses and Vianne
Happy New Year! No sharing of resolutions or reflections here, just marching on with a new year! I think sometimes I enjoy the process of organizing my thoughts in writing more than the commitment, so this year, none of that. I have plenty of ideas of course, but I think for now I'll just continue to let them steep in my head. So I'll just chat about them if and when they come up, how about that? ;) Let's start off ...
